Beyond Lagna (Ascendant), several derived lagnas are used for specialized questions.
Hora Lagna: Used to refine wealth and financial judgment. Computed from the birth time and Sun's position. A strong Hora Lagna with benefic ruler = wealth accumulation. Weak or malefic-ruled Hora Lagna = financial struggle.
Ghatika Lagna: Used for health and vitality assessment. Derived from Ghatika (time-keeper measure). Strong Ghatika with Jupiter influence = excellent health. Weak or afflicted = chronic conditions.
Sree Lagna: Related to material prosperity and sustenance (used less commonly in modern practice).
Karakamsha Lagna: The house containing AK; already covered in previous lesson but worth revisiting here as the most important "special lagna" in Jaimini.
Computation: The calculator provides methods for deriving these lagnas from birth time, date, and location. You will compute and interpret one special lagna for a sample chart, using it to answer a client question (e.g., "Will I become wealthy?").
Limitation: Special lagnas are secondary refinements. Lagna, Karakamsha, Arudha Lagna, and karakas themselves are the primary tools. Special lagnas are used to disambiguate or add detail when the main chart is unclear.
