The shodashavarga divisional charts are the sixteen vargas of the classical scheme, from the D-1 to the D-60. Most practitioners work with six or seven regularly, and knowing which those are matters more than memorising all sixteen.
In common astrology, the birth chart (D-1) is treated as the final word. In Rajvidya Enterprise Forensics, the D-1 is merely the "Table of Contents." To read the actual "Chapters" of a life, we must utilize Varga Analytics—the mathematical division of signs into smaller and smaller arcs. If you only look at the D-1, you are looking at a pixelated image from 1995; if you look at the Varga charts, you are looking at 8K spiritual resolution.
1. Why Divisional Charts are Non-Negotiable
Planets in a birth chart can be "Debilitated" in the 1st house but "Exalted" in the 9th division (Navamsha). This explains why a person might start life in poverty (D-1) but end it with massive wealth and successful marriage (D-9). The Shastras (Ancient Scriptures) declare that the Varga charts hold the Phala (Fruit), while the D-1 only holds the Roopa (Form).

3. Vargottama: The Diamond Status
The Rajvidya engine scans for a phenomenon called Vargottama—where a planet occupies the exact same sign in both D-1 and D-9. This creates a "Planetary Diamond." No matter how many afflictions that planet has, it will gain the strength to overcome them during its Dasha, leading to a "Rags to Riches" story.
4. Precision & The First Breath Protocol
Because Divisional charts like the D-60 change every 120 seconds, they reveal why two people born in the same hospital on the same day can have completely different lives. This is why Birth Time Rectification (BTR) is the first step in the Rajvidya protocol. Without a rectified birth time, the Varga charts are unreliable, and the prediction is essentially guesswork.
The Sixteen Vargas and What Each Governs
The full scheme as given in BPHS: D-1 the body and general life, D-2 wealth, D-3 siblings and courage, D-4 property and fortune, D-7 children, D-9 spouse, dharma and general strength, D-10 career and status, D-12 parents, D-16 vehicles and comforts, D-20 spiritual practice, D-24 education, D-27 strengths and weaknesses, D-30 misfortune, D-40 maternal legacy, D-45 paternal legacy and D-60 accumulated past karma.
In practice the D-1, D-9, D-10, D-7, D-12 and D-30 carry most consultation work, with the D-60 added where the birth time is known precisely enough to justify it.
Why the Higher Vargas Demand Birth-Time Precision
Each divisional chart subdivides a 30-degree sign, so the higher the division, the smaller the time window that changes the result.
The D-9 subdivides each sign into nine parts of 3 degrees 20 minutes, which corresponds to roughly eight to twelve minutes of birth time depending on the rate at which the ascendant rises. The D-60 subdivides into sixty parts of 30 arcminutes, closer to a single minute of birth time.
The consequence is unavoidable: a birth time recorded to the nearest fifteen minutes cannot support a D-60 reading. The chart will render, and it will be arbitrary. Rectify first, or restrict the reading to the vargas the recorded precision actually supports.
Reading a Varga Without Overreading It
A divisional chart refines the D-1; it does not overrule it. A planet well placed in the D-10 but afflicted in the D-1 indicates a career that functions under difficulty, not a career free of it.
Reading houses in a varga as literally as in the D-1 is the second common error. In a divisional chart the sign and the planetary condition carry the signal; detailed house-by-house prediction from a higher varga tends to exceed what the division can support.
Vargottama placement, the same sign in D-1 and D-9, is a genuine strength indicator and one of the few varga observations robust enough to survive minor birth-time error.
