According to the Nadi tradition, the event date is fixed when the transit of the joint period rulers and the luminaries (the Sun and the Moon) agrees (Kalamsa and Cuspal Interlinks). Specific planetary periods have precise transit rules:

- Cancellation of Debility (Neecha Bhanga): If a participating planet is debilitated, its debility is cancelled—forming a Raja Yoga—if its dispositor or the lord of its exaltation sign is in a Kendra (angle) from the Moon (Notable Horoscopes, page 232). - Combustion and Weakness: A major caveat in a six-planet conjunction is the proximity of the planets to the Sun.
