The KP Event Timing Framework
In Krishnamurti Paddhati, predicting the exact time of an event is both science and art. The framework rests on three pillars: House Significators, Dasha Cycles, and Sub-Lord Activation. When these three elements align, an event manifests.
Step 1: Identify House Significators
For any life event (marriage, job, illness, relocation), identify the primary house and its significators using the 4-step method:
- House cusp position (sign, star, sub)
- Star lord of the cusp
- Sub-lord of the cusp (the decisive factor)
- Planets in or aspecting that house
For marriage: examine the 7th house cusp, its star lord, sub-lord, and planets therein. These are your marriage significators.
Step 2: Dasha Timeline Navigation
Krishnamurti uses the Vimshottari Dasha system (120-year cycle), but with strict KP modifications. Each major dasha (mahadasha) runs for 6–20 years, subdivided into minor periods (antara dasha) running 1–2 years, and further into sub-sub periods (pratyantara) spanning weeks or months.
Event Timing Rule: An event occurs only when the dasha/antara lord:
- Is a significator of the desired house, OR
- Aspects or relates to a significator, OR
- Transits a significator in the natal chart
Step 3: Sub-Lord Activation & Transits
The sub-lord of the house cusp is the gatekeeper. Even if the dasha lord matches, the event occurs only when:
- The sub-lord enters a favorable bhava (house segment)
- Transit planets activate the sub-lord's position
- The antara lord connects to the sub-lord or 7th house significators
Example: Marriage Prediction
Scenario: 7th house cusp at 15° Libra, in Chitra nakshatra (ruled by Mars), sub of Jupiter.
- Significators: Mars (star lord), Jupiter (sub-lord), Venus (7th lord), any planets in 7th
- Event Timing: Marriage occurs when:
- Dasha runs of Mars, Jupiter, Venus, or 7th house planets, AND
- Antara is also a 7th significator, AND
- Transit Jupiter activates the 7th cusp or Mars/Jupiter positions
The Golden Rule: Avoid Wrong Timings
KP strictly forbids predictions during:
- Dasha of planets in the 6th, 8th, or 12th from the querent's ascendant (malefic houses)
- When the sub-lord of the query house occupies or aspects the 6th, 8th, or 12th
- Saturn or Ketu dasha without supportive antara lords
Ruling Planets: The Final Confirmation
At the moment of query, note the ruling planets (day lord, hour lord, dasha/antara lords, ascendant lord). These ruling planets act as a live filter—if any ruling planet is a significator of the desired house, it indicates timing proximity. The more ruling planets align with significators, the sooner the event.
Practical Steps for Prediction
- Fix the house and its cusp significators
- List dasha periods for the next 5–10 years
- Identify periods when dasha/antara connect to house significators
- Cross-check with transit positions of sub-lords
- Use ruling planets to narrow the window to weeks or days
Mastering KP event timing transforms astrology from vague generality into precise calendar prediction.
