How to Use the Vairagya Meter

The Vairagya Meter, shown as the Detachment Quotient inside Spiritual Analysis, scores renunciation tendency from the D1 and D9 charts. This guide covers reading the two-layer score and a naming overlap with a separate PDF report.

The Vairagya Meter, shown on the Spiritual Analysis page as the Detachment Quotient, scores how strongly a chart pulls toward renunciation versus worldly ambition, drawn from the 12th house, Ketu and Saturn.

This is included with Spiritual Analysis, not a separate purchase

You do not buy the Vairagya Meter on its own. It appears automatically inside the Spiritual Analysis report once that module is unlocked — look for the Detachment Quotient section. There is no separate button, paywall, or unlock step for it.

Step 1 — Open Spiritual Analysis

Open a saved chart's Spiritual Analysis report. Scroll to Detachment Quotient (Vairagya Meter).

Step 2 — Read the two layers

The score blends two charts: the natal (D1) chart, showing how detachment looks from the outside — the choices the world sees — weighted lightly, and the Navamsa (D9), the soul's deeper quality, weighted more heavily. The final figure leans toward the D9 reading, since the underlying idea is that real detachment is internal, not just how someone's choices look from outside.

A precision note

This score depends on the D9 chart, which shifts with small changes in birth time. If the recorded birth time isn't accurate to within about ten minutes, treat the score as indicative rather than exact.

A separate product shares this name internally

There is also a standalone "Internal Rhythm" PDF report that, behind the scenes, is filed under the same internal key as this meter. That PDF measures something different — daily mind and vitality cycles, not detachment — and is a separate, astrologer-oriented product. If someone mentions buying a "Vairagya Meter report" separately from Spiritual Analysis, confirm which of the two they mean before troubleshooting.

Common mistakes

  • Looking for a separate Vairagya Meter purchase. It comes bundled with Spiritual Analysis automatically.
  • Reading the score at face value on a chart with an uncertain birth time. The D9-based calculation is sensitive to small time errors.
  • Confusing this with the "Internal Rhythm" PDF report. Same internal name, different content.

If something goes wrong

  • The Detachment Quotient section is missing. The underlying Jaimini data may not have been calculated yet; recalculate the chart and reopen Spiritual Analysis.
