The Jaimini System is a full second astrological method — Chara Karakas, Rashi Drishti, all 12 Arudha Padas, Argala, Chara and Narayana Dasha, Special Lagnas, and Jaimini-style longevity — run independently of the main Parashari chart. It costs 20 credits for normal accounts and is free for astrologer accounts.
Before you start — astrologers get this free, but must find it themselves
If you're an astrologer, Jaimini costs nothing on any chart. But the Jaimini menu only appears in the sidebar for astrologer accounts — a normal user who has paid for it has no sidebar entry at all and must reach it through a dashboard tile or a link from Career, Skills, or Spiritual Analysis. Know this before assuming the feature is missing.
Step 1 — Open the Jaimini System
Astrologers: open a chart, expand Jaimini System in the sidebar. Normal users: reach it from the dashboard's feature tiles, or from a Jaimini card on Career, Skills, or Spiritual Analysis.
Step 2 — Know this is more than what Career or Skills already show
Career, Skills and Spiritual Analysis each pull a small Jaimini slice — usually just the Atmakaraka or Amatyakaraka. The standalone Jaimini System is the full toolkit: all seven or eight Chara Karakas (not just the top two), the complete Rashi Drishti sign-aspect grid, all 12 Arudha Padas, house-by-house Argala, Special Lagnas (Hora and Ghatika Lagna), and a full Chara/Narayana Dasha timeline with sub-periods. Use the standalone module when you need the full picture, not just the one number the other pages surface.
Step 3 — Use Chara/Narayana Dasha as a second opinion
Chara Dasha and Narayana Dasha run on completely different logic from the Vimshottari dasha used elsewhere on the site. Treat agreement between the two systems as a stronger signal, and disagreement as a prompt to look closer — not as a contradiction to resolve in favour of one system.
A setting worth knowing about
The Chara Karaka scheme (7-karaka, K.N. Rao method, excludes Rahu; or 8-karaka, the traditional method, includes Rahu) is set on the chart itself, not on this page. To switch it, change the setting in the chart's calculation settings and recalculate — there's no toggle here.
Common mistakes
- Assuming Jaimini is missing because it's not in the sidebar. For normal users, it never is — use the dashboard tile or a cross-link instead.
- Treating Chara Dasha results as a variant of Vimshottari. It's an independent system with its own logic.
- Looking for a karaka-scheme switch on the Chara Karakas page. It lives in the chart's calculation settings.
- Editing birth details after unlocking (normal accounts only). This invalidates the unlock and requires paying 20 credits again; astrologers are unaffected since the feature is free for them regardless.
If something goes wrong
- A section shows "No data" or a blank result. Most Jaimini calculations fail silently rather than showing an error — recalculate the chart first, since Jaimini needs the D9 divisional chart to already be computed.
- Insufficient credits (normal accounts). Top up before unlocking; astrologer accounts never see this paywall for Jaimini.
