Driver and destiny
The moolank, or driver number, is the reduced sum of your date of birth, and is read as temperament — how a person naturally moves. The bhagyank, or destiny number, reduces the whole date, and is read as the direction a life tends toward regardless of temperament.
Name numbers
The namank reduces the letters of a name to a single value using the Chaldean system, which assigns values by sound rather than alphabetical order. Where the name number conflicts sharply with the driver and destiny numbers, a name correction is what practitioners usually suggest.
Personal year
The personal year is calculated from your birth date against the current calendar year and repeats on a nine-year cycle. It is used for timing in much the way a dasha is used in astrology, though on a far simpler basis.
Common questions
What is the difference between moolank and bhagyank?
The moolank comes from the day of the month alone and describes temperament. The bhagyank reduces the entire date of birth and is read as the broader direction of a life.
Does spelling my name differently change anything?
It changes the name number, which is the basis of name correction. Practitioners suggest it where the name number conflicts with the driver and destiny numbers.
