Hair Fall
Description
Hair loss, thinning, or balding of the scalp or body. Hair fall can occur due to various reasons like nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, or stress. From an Ayurvedic perspective, it indicates weakened tissue nutrition and imbalanced doshas.
Causes
- Iron deficiency: Lack of iron affects the production of hemoglobin, reducing oxygen supply to hair follicles.
- Indigestion: Poor digestion leads to nutrient malabsorption, weakening hair.
- Rasa Dhatu Imbalance: Rasa Dhatu (nutritional plasma) is responsible for nourishing the tissues. Its imbalance affects hair strength.
- Ayurvedic Insight: Ayurveda attributes hair loss to imbalances in the Pitta dosha, which weakens the Rasa and Rakta Dhatus, leading to poor tissue nutrition.
Treament
- Diet: Include iron-rich foods like spinach, lentils, and jaggery.
- Ayurvedic Herbs: Use herbs like Bhringraj, Amla, and Brahmi to nourish the scalp and hair.
- Lifestyle Adjustments: Practice yoga and meditation to reduce stress and improve overall digestion.
- Medicated oils: along with regular scalp massages with medicated oils.
