Description

Fatigue, or Daurbalya in Ayurveda, is a persistent sense of tiredness, weakness, or lack of energy that impacts both body and mind. Unlike occasional tiredness, it does not improve with rest and can interfere with daily activities. In Ayurveda, fatigue is often associated with imbalances in the Vata and Kapha doshas, affecting the flow of energy (Prana) and metabolism (Agni). Physical exertion, mental stress, dietary habits, digestive issues, and underlying health conditions like anemia and diabetes are also common contributors.

Causes

  • Dosha Imbalance – Vata imbalance can deplete energy, while Kapha imbalance can lead to heaviness and lethargy.
  • Digestive Weakness (Agni) – Poor digestion and accumulation of toxins (Ama) reduce nutrient absorption, impacting energy levels.
